We also have a focus on embedding good practice within the local sector and inclusion is at the heart of everything we deliver. Maldon and District CVS want to see a strong and connected community where people are supported by a thriving and professional voluntary sector.
We offer a range of services to the local sector including funding and governance advice and information cascade. We also host the districts Volunteer Centre to support more people to get involved in community action in the district and run a range of projects, services and activities to help people to feel well and connected to their communities.

Community Gaming Initiative Coordinator
The Community Gaming Initiative (CGI) Project Coordinator will be responsible for the delivery and development of the CGI project. The role will coordinate sessional workers and gaming sessions and develop partnerships to expand the initiative’s reach across different demographics. The postholder will also be responsible for monitoring, reporting, and ensuring safeguarding and inclusivity are embedded in all activities.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support MDCVS projects and manage the organisational databases including Maldon District Connects and Volunteer Essex. The post holder will ensure accuracy and accessibility of information and prepare quarterly reports on website usage and take up to inform decision making and demonstrate impact.
The post holder will also assist MDCVS projects as requested by the Operations Manager, providing administrative, monitoring, or project delivery support as needed.

The Affordable Food Network Coordinator will support and oversee the development of the Affordable Food Network (made up of social or community supermarkets and other affordable food initiatives in Essex), providing centralised support to social supermarkets and other affordable food initiatives. The coordinator will work as part of a countywide team to develop and embed a culture of peer support, peer learning, and network capability, ensuring the network’s sustainability and impact.

The Uttlesford Community Supermarket will increase the proportion of people able to live healthy lifestyles by giving convenient access to affordable, healthy food and ingredients close to where they live. Uttlesford is a large rural district with a low population density. Operations Manager
We are looking to recruit an Operations Manager to support the development and management of MDCVS charity activities and services with a particular focus on the operational delivery and strategic development of community-based projects. The operations manager will be responsible for developing and delivering projects that further the mission of Maldon and District CVS to create thriving, connected and healthy communities. This will include considering the strategic direction of MDCVS and working in partnership with communities, cross sectors, the MDCVS director and trustee board to create
projects and opportunities that benefit the community and contribute to the sustainability and impact.
Social Community Supermarkets are community-led initiatives which provide access to nutritious food for a fraction of what these items would cost in a regular supermarket. They enable people on low incomes to stretch their budgets further each week, helping to prevent crisis situations from arising in household finances resulting in the need to access food bank style support.
The Project Officer – Social Supermarket will support the delivery of a mobile Social Supermarket in the districts of Maldon and Braintree. The role will include supporting the smooth running of supermarket sessions alongside supporting tasks such as managing stock and supporting promotion.

Maldon and District CVS are always looking for dedicated community minded people to join our projects team. Project officers will support the delivery of projects and activities that further the mission of Maldon and District CVS to create thriving, connected and healthy communities. This support will include working in partnership with communities and sectors to offer opportunities for physical activity, digital inclusion, mental wellbeing, peer support and crisis response.
As part of the projects team the role will involve organising and promoting activities, undertaking administration task and supporting and encouraging individuals to connect with services and activities.
We are looking for people for up to 20 hours a week on a fixed term contract or a flexible zero hours basis as suits applicants.

Ace Music Therapy CIC’s FREE group for Adult Carers, Beat Retreat, a drumming music therapy group exclusively for carers, will be starting soon in Maldon thanks to funding from Essex County Council’s Carers Community Fund.
The group will meet on Wednesday’s for 9 weeks, between the 5th of March 2025 & 21st of May 2025 (Every Wednesday except from – 9th April, 16th April & 30th April)
