Promote Your Work on Chelmsford Community Radio

Chelmsford Community Radio C.I.C is a community based radio station set up to serve the city of Chelmsford, the birthplace of wireless both on 104.4 FM and as an online streaming service.

We are a volunteer based organisation providing opportunities for people with an interest in radio to try their skills and join the fastest growing social enterprise in the city.

Chelmsford’s Local Radio Station Providing 24/7 radio, focused on Chelmsford and the surrounding villages, Chelmsford Community Radio (CCR) delivers specialist programmes, news, talk shows and entertainment to over 170,000 people

CCR has been supported from the beginning by local companies, the City Council and County Council representatives. We enjoy a strong representation across the city, and beyond. Having grown from a small enterprise, we now have over 60 volunteers and produce over 100 hours of original radio.

CCR started life broadcasting on the internet and continues to do so. With measurable statistics, we know that by the end of our first year we reached over 6000 unique listeners a week, with an average of 25 minutes listening time. Approximately 65% are based n the local area, the others are around the world! With an FM licence granted in 2017 our listenership has grown to an estimated 24,000 and we can now be heard in cars, workplaces and homes all over the city.

The station has become an incredibly important platform for local people, groups and societies – giving them a chance to be heard but also the opportunity to partner up on radio training workshops to develop creativity, confidence and skills.

With this in mind, Chelmsford Community Radio would like to invite your good cause to get involved with our family of volunteers and make use of our assets – come on air and talk to Chelmsford about what you get up to – how you help others. Some groups may also wish to consider funding us to run a workshop for your service users or looking to a potential joint grant application for a future collaborative project.
